During the 2017 #BetterInRed challenge, CSU staff and students improved their health and wellbeing as a community.

Your challenge

#BetterInRed was a health and wellness challenge that ran for eight weeks, starting Monday 6 March. It was all about exercise, improving your wellbeing and making new friends.

  • Exercise for 30 minutes, three times a week.
  • Participate a 5km challenge at parkrun at the end of the challenge, on Saturday 29 April
  • Learn something new about health and wellbeing from CSU experts.
  • Meet someone new at regular meet-ups on campus.

Current Student 2017 #BetterInRed Social Media Competition Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the “2017 #BetterInRed Social Media Competition” (Competition) details of which appear at social.csu.edu.au. Entry in the Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. All references to time are to Australian Eastern Standard Time.

Promoter

  1. The promoter of the Competition is Charles Sturt University (ABN: 83 878 708 551, CRICOS Provider 00005F Panorama Avenue, Bathurst, New South Wales 2795 (CSU).

Competition Period

  1. The Competition will commence on Monday 27 February 2017 at 12.01am and close on Saturday 29 April 2017 at 11:59pm (Competition Period).  Any entry to the Competition that is received outside the Competition Period will be invalid.

Eligibility

  1. Entry in the Competition is open to all currently enrolled CSU students and current employees of CSU (Entrant).
  2. Any Entrant under 18 years must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.

Competition Rules

How to enter

  1. To take part in the Competition, Entrants must:
    1. post an original photo to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to publish a photo that depicts their participation in the #BetterInRed exercise challenge; and
    2. on Instagram or Twitter include the hashtag #BetterInRed; and on Facebook post the photo to the Charles Sturt University Facebook page.
  2. There is no limit on the number of entries which can be submitted by an Entrant provided each entry is different.

Determination and announcement of winner and award of prize

  1. This is a competition based on skill and merit.
  2. Entries will be published to the social.csu.edu.au website on a weekly basis during the Competition Period
  3. Entries will be judged by a selection panel comprised of CSU staff (Panel).
  4. Each week during the Competition Period, the Panel, in their discretion, will choose winning photo/s based on originality, creativity, effort and relevance as follows:
    1. Weeks 1 -8 of the Competition Period: the Panel will choose 1 winning entry per week; and
    2. Week 9 of the Competition Period: the Panel will choose 3 winning entries (Winner).
  5. CSU reserves the right not to determine a Winner for any week during the Competition Period in its discretion.
  6. CSU reserves the right to verify the identity and eligibility of an Entrant prior to awarding a prize.
  7. CSU’s decision about the eligibility of an Entrant and/or their compliance with these terms and conditions and/or determination or non-determination of a Winner is final.
  8. The name of the Winner will be published on the social.csu.edu.au each week.

Prize

  1. The prize will only be awarded following Winner validation and verification. CSU’s decision is final.
  2. The following prize will be awarded to each Winner for the Competition:
    1. Weeks 1-8 of the Competition Period: each of the weekly Winners will receive $60 worth of sports clothing from the CSU merchandise shop
    2. Week 9 of the Competition Period: each of the three Winners will each receive a FitBit Alta (Prize).
  3. The Prizes are not transferable nor redeemable for cash.
  4. To claim their Prize, each Winner must contact CSU via social media or an email to social@csu.edu.au. Each Winner will have until 5.00pm on Friday 12 May 2017 to claim their Prize. After this date, the Prize is forfeited to CSU. CSU is not liable to compensate any Winner who fails to claim their Prize.

Use of Social Media

  1. This Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Each Entrant releases those entities from any liability in connection with the Competition.
  2. The use of any form of social media is subject to the terms of use of that medium and each Entrant must assess those terms for themselves.
  3. Entrants must not tag themselves or any other person if they are not pictured in the entry.

Content of Entry

  1. Each Entrant warrants that they are the creator of the entry, they own the copyright and their entry does not infringe any third party rights.
  2. Each Entrant must obtain the consent of any person who can be identified in their entry prior to submitting it to the Competition.
  3. CSU may remove any entry from its social media pages without notice for any reason.
  4. An Entrant must not submit any material which is unlawful, fraudulent, an infringement of any intellectual property, privacy or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, sexist, racist, discriminatory, hateful, or otherwise unsuitable for publication.

Use of Your Entry for Promotional Purposes

  1. By entering this Competition each Entrant grants to CSU a non-exclusive, irrevocable royalty and fee free licence to use, reproduce, publish and distribute their entry (including the Entrant’s name and image), for the purposes of the Competition and all other activities promoting CSU. The entry may be published in any media, and CSU may alter or edit the entry as required to make use of the entry for the permitted purposes. Each Entrant consents to any act by CSU which would otherwise infringe their moral rights.

Release and Liability

  1. To the full extent permitted by law, CSU excludes all liability arising in connection with this Competition, any entry or Prize.
  2. CSU is not responsible for any late, lost, incorrectly submitted, delayed, incomplete or corrupted entry whether due to error or otherwise. CSU is under no obligation to accept any entry which is not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  3. CSU reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, in which case it will post a notice on its Facebook page.
  4. Without prejudice to any other rights of a party, each Entrant indemnifies CSU against any loss, claim or damage arising from the Entrant’s participation or entry in the Competition.

Privacy

  1. CSU may collect, store and use personal information collected from Entrants in order to conduct the Competition and related purposes.
  2. Each Entrant consents to the publication of their name and details if they are a Winner.
  3. Personal information is managed by CSU in accordance with the CSU Privacy Management Plan: http://www.csu.edu.au/about/legal. Any Entrant can contact the CSU Ombudsman about personal information held by CSU about them.
  4. Supply of personal information is voluntary, but if an Entrant declines to do so then CSU may not be able to include their entry in the Competition or award a Prize.
